Thomas Frederic Barry



Thomas "Tommy" Frederic
Barry, 72, a 15-year resident of
Deale and previously of Fort
Washington, died September 26 at
his home of Alzheimer's disease after
an eight-year illness.

He was born Sept. 27, 1938, in
Bangor, ME, to the late Thomas and
Sally Barry, and graduated from
Anacostia High School in
Washington, DC.

Tommy served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Private. He worked as a
Telecommunications Manager for Bell Atlantic (Verizon) and was a
lifetime member and past president of South Gate Lions Club. He
enjoyed boating and traveling.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother,
Robert Barry. He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Barry, whom he
married Oct. 1, 1960; son, Thomas E. Barry and his wife Elizabeth
Barry, and grandson, Scott T. Barry of Leesburg, VA.

Friends and family are invited to Tommy's Life Celebration from 1 to 4
p.m. with Marine Corps funeral honors at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday,
October 8 at the Upper Marlboro Moose Lodge, Lodge 1856, 15103
Marlboro Pike, Upper Marlboro. Interment private.
