Russell G. Sharpe

RUSSELL G. SHARPE

Born July 19, 1950 passed away on August 2, 2013 at home after a
lengthy illness.

Russ leaves behind his wife, Shirley A. Sharpe and Patricia Gibson, his
sister. Russ graduated in 1968 from
Anacostia High School and
received a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the
University of Maryland in 1974.

He began his career at The Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission
as an Engineer in the Flow Monitoring Section. He went on to become
the Plant Superintendent of the pilot Piscataway Advanced Wastewater
Treatment Plant. With the closing of the pilot plant he became Senior
Plant Superintendent of the Interim Seneca Advanced Wastewater
Treatment Plant. Russ was the Facilities Maintenance Section Head at
the time of his retirement in 2000. Russ was also very active in the
Chesapeake Water Environment Association (CWEA) He was a former
President and also the Chairman of many committees.

Russ was also a distinguished member of the 5S Society.

There will be a Memorial Service on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the
New Apostolic Church, 21 N Quaker Lane, Alexandria, VA 22304 at
12:30 p.m.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the
New Apostolic Church.
