Marian J. Belcher, age 92, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Washington D.C.
passed away peacefully Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at West Shore Hospital with
her family at her side.
Born May 13, 1927 in Washington, DC, she was a daughter of the late Richard and
Amelia (Bishop) Johnson. Marian graduated from Anacosta High School in 1945.
She was a member of Christ Community Church, Camp Hill. Marian was a Godly
woman of deep love and compassion. She was known as a Prayer Warrior not only
for her family and friends but anyone she encountered on her journey. Marian was a
Registered Nurse, having worked in Sibley Memorial Hospital in Washington DC
and Carroll Manor Nursing Home in Maryland.
Surviving are two daughters, Zoë A. Monserrate and husband Paul of Dillsburg, and
Julie M. Belcher of Glenn Dale, MD; a son, David J. Belcher and wife Gwen of
Wellfleet, MA; six grandchildren, Stephen Monserrate, Susan Pontius, Seth, Luke,
Abigail and Andrew Belcher and twelve great grandchildren, Abigail, Hope, Anna,
Caleb, Aidan, Jessa Pontius, Nathan, Delaney, Liam, Griffin, Rebekah and Felicity
In addition to her parents, Marian was preceded in death by her husband Robert O.
Belcher, her son, Stephen E. Belcher and her sister, Flora Pencoff.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Monday, February 24 in Christ Community
Church. Viewings will be from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Sunday, February 23rd at
Malpezzi Funeral Home, Mechanicsburg and on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of
services at the church. Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
