Lois Marie Fitzpatrick  1928 - 2014

ESCONDIDO --Fitzpatrick, Lois Marie 12/20/1928 ~ 08/12/2014

Lois Marie Fitzpatrick passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, at her
daughter's home in Escondido, Ca. at the age of 85.

Lois was blessed to have been surrounded by loving family and friends. She was
born in New Haven, Connecticut on December 20, 1928 to the late Thomas and
Mildred Higgins and raised in Washington, D.C. where she graduated from
Anacostia High School (1947).

On September 30, 1950 she married her beloved high school sweetheart Ed
Fitzpatrick and together they had five children.

Lois worked for the FBI until Ed's career as a Naval Investigative Agent took them
from coast to coast and for a few years to Japan. No matter where life took us, our
beautiful Mom made everywhere our home. Lois taught English to elementary
students in Japan as well as Special Education to students in Virginia. Wherever our
family lived, our Mom's outgoing, joyful personality and infectious laugh drew so
many wonderful people into her life, many of which remained lifelong friends. She
had a love for life and touched the lives of everyone she knew, particularly all of the
children that knew her as "Grammy Fitz."

Lois was preceded in death by her beloved Ed.

Lois is survived by her children, Edward Fitzpatrick (Terri), Kathleen Cota (Alex),
Jerome Fitzpatrick (Val), Thomas Fitzpatrick (Doris), and Mary Beane (Ron);
grandchildren Laura, Rosalie, Taylor, Logan, Amanda Nicholas, Brandon, Ryan and
Dylan, great-grand- son Isaiah, as well as her sister Marjorie Higgins, several
cousins, nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 12 p.m., Saturday, August 23, 2014, at the Church of the
Resurrection, 1445 Conway Dr., Escondido, CA 92027.

A Celebration of Life to follow.
