PATRICK J. MURRAY (Age 62)  

Passed away Thursday, December 8, 2011 in his home. Patrick was born in the District of
Columbia and attended
Woodrow Wilson High School (67) and American University.
Before moving to Durham in the 1980s, he worked in Boston, New York, and D.C. in the
news business as a writer and photographer. In Durham, he worked in the computer industry
and as an elections official. He loved baseball, especially the Red Sox, and was a season
ticket holder of "some pretty good seats" to the Durham Bulls.

The son of the late Richard Wilson Murray, Patrick is survived by his wife, Alison Evans
Murray, of Durham; his mother, Peggy Ray of Melbourne, Australia; his sisters, Anne M.
Cohen and Margaret E. Murray; his daughter, Heather Moors Johnson; several nieces and
nephews; and three grandchildren.

A gathering will be held on Tuesday, December 13 at 6 p.m. at Clements Visitation Center
on Broad Street in Durham. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to
Habitat for Humanity, 215 N. Church St. Durham, NC 27701.
