Mr. Maury, a life long Washingtonian, is survived by his loving
wife of 40 years, Nancy Lawson Maury and four children,
Matthew (Barbara), Elizabeth Bower (Peter), Scott (Courtney) and Brian (Amy); nine
grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.

In 1956, Mr. Maury became a founder of Stuart & Maury Realtors, one of DC/MD's longest
standing real estate firms. He held a real estate license for 65 years.

An avid golfer, Deane was a member of the Chevy Chase Club and won many trophies
throughout his golfing career. He traveled the world in his later years, never imagining his
good fortune would take him to the Pyramids and The Great Wall of China.

In his youth Deane was a ballplayer and pitched throughout his tour of duty with the United
States Marine Corp.

Deane's ability to make people laugh was legendary. To many who knew him, he was the
funniest person they ever met. He was universally admired for his kind nature and caring way.

A private family service was conducted at St. David's Episcopal Church on April 12, 2018. A
celebration of Deane's life will be held May 15 at 1 p.m. at the Chevy Chase Club, at which
time the family invites all who loved this wonderful man to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the Maury family requests donations to either Montgomery Hospice, 1355
Picard Dr., Rockville, MD 20850 or St. David's Church, 5150 Macomb St., Washington, DC
