SOLON B. KEMON, Esq. (Age 90)
Of Simsbury, CT, husband of the late Elizabeth (Hall) Kemon died Wednesday August 8,
2012 at Hartford Hospital. He was born, November 13, 1921 in Washington, DC. Son of
the late Lee Byrn and Estelle (Kimball) Kemon. He was a third generation
Washingtonian living in Chevy Chase, MD prior to moving to Simsbury 13 years ago.
He was a graduate of John Eaton School, Western High School Class of '39 and
Cornell University '43 in Electrical Engineering. After proudly serving his country as a
Commissioned Officer in the US Coast Guard in Amchitka, Alaska he graduated
George Washington University Law School "48. He joined his father's law firm to
practice Patent Law.
He married Elizabeth Hall November 1, 1952 and settled in Chevy Chase, MD. He
practiced law for 48 years and retired in 1996. After the death of his wife he moved to
Simsbury to be closer to his children and grand children.
He enjoyed fishing on Lake Fairlee in Vermont and with the Ocean City Light Tackle
Club and hunting ducks and geese on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
He was predeceased by his sister Jane Lee Kemon.
He leaves his son Kenneth S. Kemon of Hartford, VT, his wife Ann Jane (Banios) Kemon
and grand children Matthew and Allison. His daughter Elizabeth Lee (Kemon) Boudreau
of Simsbury, CT, her husband Kenneth Boudreau and grand children Kellan and Maggie.
There will be no calling hours. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial donations
may be made to Cornell University College of Engineering
