H. Robert Borden

Bob Borden, 96, died on Monday, December 7, 2015 in Winchester, VA. He was
preceded in death by his wife of 73 years, Catherine Borden. Bob was born on August
18, 1919, raised in Chevy Chase, DC and graduated from
Western High School 1937.

Surviving are his daughter, Betty Sullivan, Reston, VA; sons, Robert, Hartfield, VA and
Michael, San Francisco, CA; seven grandchildren and 11 great- grandchildren.

He worked as a machinist, for the International Association of Machinists, and was
National Director of the Apprenticeship Information Centers for the Department of Labor
from 1963 - 1974. At age 55, he moved to Shepherdstown, WV where he was a farmer
and cattleman.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, December 12 at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart
Catholic Church, Winchester, VA. Reception following the Mass at SV Westminster-
Canterbury, 300 Westminster-Canterbury Dr., Winchester, VA 22603.
