Edwin Pearson Parker III

Passed away on September 2, 2014 at the age of 95.

He graduated from the old
Western High School (1937), and received bachelor and
medical degrees from The University of Virginia.

He enlisted in the Navy in 1942, serving with honor and distinction as a medical officer
and flight surgeon of the Marine Bombing Squadron 612 in the Pacific, and was awarded
three Bronze Stars.

Buzz will be remembered as a devoted and dedicated doctor of internal medicine who
made house calls until the day he retired. Dr. Parker was affiliated with Sibley Memorial
Hospital, The Washington Hospital Center and George Washington University Hospital,
where he was a professor of Internal Medicine.

He was a longstanding member and a vestryman of Christ Church, Georgetown.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 66 years, Mary Neff Parker; children, Edwin, John,
David and Elizabeth; grandchildren, Chris, Charlie, Stoddert, Pearson, Stuart and
Stafford; four great-grandchildren and brothers, Nicholas and Somerville.

Private interment will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery and a Memorial Service will take
place at a later date.
