Dawn M. Berke, 82        

PORTLAND - Dawn M. Berke, 82, of Portland, died peacefully on June 23, 2015,
following a long illness. Dawn was born in Brewer, on June 10, 1933, the daughter of the
late Charles B. Mallory and Vera Goff Douglass. She was graduated from
Western High
School (1951)
in Washington, DC.

She was a flight attendant with American Airlines based in Dallas, Texas, where she
married and lived for many years before moving to Maine in 1972. She was an avid
reader who was most comfortable when she had a book in her hand. She enjoyed
traveling and had seen many destinations over the years. Her greatest love was the time
she spent surrounded by her family and friends.

Dawn was predeceased by her son Jason Berke. She is survived by her sons Jack and
his wife Cherie Berke of Texas, and James Berke of Maine; her sister Clythie Hinnant of
Virginia, her brother Charles I. Mallory and his wife Geri Lee of Virginia; granddaughters
Shawnee Berke of Maine, and Kristine Berke of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 20, 2015, at 2:30 p.m. at the Eastern
Cemetery, Route 25, Gorham.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Conroy-Tully Crawford Funeral Home, 172
State St., Portland.
