STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. - Betty Jean Little Gwynn, 65, of Stone Mountain, died Tuesday,
Oct. 4, 2001, at Embracing Hospice.
Born in Washington, D.C., she spent early years in Trenton, N.J. She returned to
Washington D.C., during her high school years, where she graduated in 1961 from
Western High School, now known as The Duke Ellington School of Performing Arts.
She was employed by the State Department while in D.C. She relocated to Trenton, N.J.
in 1975, where she was employed by the State of New Jersey as a claims investigator
until her retirement in 2002.
She was baptized at Galilee Baptist Church in Trenton, N.J. In February 2011 she moved
to Stone Mountain.
Predeceased by her father, Eugene Little, grandparents, George and Polly Phillips, and
a son-in-law, Kelvin Russell, surviving are her husband, Joe Gwynn; her mother, Ollie M.
Little; one son, Paul Little (Latifa); three daughters, Natalie Hood (Willie Jr.), Yolanda
Littlepage-Turner (Troy), Leot Russell; two stepchildren, Keith Littlepage and Renee King
(Ivan); 17 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one nephew, Jabar Little; one great-
nephew and niece; two god-children, Deborah Miller and JaMese Mozon; and a host of
cousins, other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Campbell Funeral Chapel, 1225 Calhoun
St., Trenton, N.J. Calling hours will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
