Barbara Simons Davies of King George departed this life on
earth and ascended into heaven on Thursday, April 5, 2017.

Born in Washington, D.C. on July 6, 1927 to Roland E. Simons
and Anita Hershey Simons Jones, she was salutatorian of the
Class of
1945 at McKinley Technical High School in
Washington, D.C.

She was very active in the King George Woman's Club, where
she'd served as President; St. John's Episcopal Church in
King George, where she had served on the Vestry and as
Treasurer; and The Opp Shop at King George Courthouse.
She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Barbara truly enjoyed
playing bridge, especially with her local bridge group. She was an excellent cook, loved her
yard, and reading mystery novels. She was a good friend to many and will be sorely missed.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Frederick Gordon Davies, daughters Pamela Jane
Davies (Geoff MacIlwaine) of Waynesboro, Va., and Janet Davies Beebe (Brian Workman) of
Lexington, Va., and grandsons William Davies Beebe and Tucker Thomas Beebe, both of
Lexington, Va.

A funeral service will be on Tuesday, April 10 at 11 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, King
George.

The family will receive friends at a reception in the parish house following the service.

Boys Home Road, Covington, VA 24426.
