|Ruth Lucille Herbert Fasnacht
RUTH LUCILLE FASNACHT (Age 95) Passed away peacefully on July 15,
2010, at the Pines At Davidson, NC.
She was born in Washington, DC to Henry and Bessie R. Herbert. Growing up she
lived on Monroe St. and Kearny St., NE. Ruth was a graduate of McKinley
Technical High School and The Washington School for Secretaries.
She worked for Long and Curry Insurance for over 19 years. She enjoyed time
spent with friends in her sorority, Delta Alpha. During part of her adult life, Ruth
lived in Arlington, VA. In 1974, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn
In the 1980''s, she moved to Palm Coast, FL to pursue "retirement in paradise".
Always possessing a zest for life, Ruth was not one to sit on the sidelines. She lived
an active life in Florida. Among her many activities were ringing hand bells and
serving on the altar guild of St. Marks-By-the-Sea Lutheran Church, being a
hospital volunteer, serving as president of her condo association and being a
member of the woman''s club. Some of her fondest memories were visits from her
grandchildren. A world traveler, Ruth enjoyed multiple international cruises.
In 2000, Ruth moved to North Carolina to be near her only daughter and
son-in-law. Survivors include a daughter, Christine Andersen and husband, David
of Charlotte, NC; a granddaughter, Heather Leonard and husband, Kevin of
Fairfax, VA; grandson, Brian Andersen and fiancée, Johanna Andersson of
Arlington, VA; a great-granddaughter, Allison Leonard and a sister, Edna
DeBernard and husband, Lewis of Palm City FL.
The family thanks Dr. Ron Beamon, the caring and dedicated staff of The Pines At
Davidson and the coordinated team at Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman
for their superb care of Ruth.
A graveside family service to celebrate her life will be held at Prospect Hill
Cemetery,Washington, DC. Arrangements by CAVIN COOK FUNERAL HOME,
MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA
