Anthony J. Sciacca, 87, a retired Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Co. repairman and installer, died Sept. 18 at his home in
Bowie from coronary heart disease. Mr. Sciacca worked for C&P after World War II until his retirement in 1976.During the war, he
served in the Army as a telephone operator, anti-aircraft gunner and military police officer in Italy.
Anthony Joseph Sciacca was born in Washington and graduated from McKinley Technical High School in 1939.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Cuozzo Sciacca of Bowie; three children, Joseph Sciacca of Alexandria and Maria
Magruder and Karen Stratchko, both of Bowie; three sisters; one brother; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
