ROBERT BENJAMIN BUDD   


Died at Leewood Healthcare Center,
Annandale, VA, on July 30, 2013. He was 80.

Born November 16, 1932, in Washington,
DC, he was the son of the late David George Budd
and Sara Budd.

He graduated from
McKinley Technical
High School
in Washington, DC. He served in the
U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, spending some
time in France as a Water Supply Specialist. Upon completion of his military
service, he attended Wilson Teacher's College in Washington, DC. Mr. Budd then
taught physical education and coached basketball and football at Duval High School
in Prince George's County, MD.

Mr. Budd's major interests were sports and painting. He was an abstract artist and
had several one-man shows. In 2001, he was one of 209 Honored Senior Artists
who had their paintings displayed at the national headquarters of the American
Association of Homes and Services for the Aging in Washington, DC.
Mr. Budd's survivors include his former wife, Marybeth Budd; one daughter,
Suzanne Hulthage (Sam); and two granddaughters, Gabby and Chloe. He is also
survived by his sister, Jean Nollmeyer (Leo) and his devoted friend, Mary
MacDowell.

Services will be private.
