Raymond Wright "Ray" Wingate Jr., 90, of Annapolis and formerly of Mardela
Springs, died after a lengthy illness at the Heritage Harbour Health and Rehab
Center on February 6.

Born February 1, 1924 to the late Alice and Raymond W. Wingate Sr., Ray
graduated from
McKinley High School, Washington, D.C. in 1942.

He served in the United States Navy as a Ships Fitter Third Class from November
11, 1942 to January 5, 1946.

He retired from the Colonial Fuel Company of Washington, D.C. in June of 1981.

He enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and attending auctions. He was a wood worker, who
also enjoyed duck carving.

Survivors include his son Richard Wingate; three daughters, Lynn Groves, Debbie
Mikules, and Pam Rogers; 12 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchild-ren. The
family will be accepting visitors from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. with a memorial service to
follow on February 15 at Hardesty Funeral Home, 905 Galesville Rd., Galesville.
