ROGERS SR., PHILLIPS CLARKE, of Annapolis, Maryland, died peacefully at
home on Saturday, November 30, 2013. The son of James Webb Rogers, Sr. and
Anna Clarke Rogers, he was born on October 4, 1927 in Washington D.C. He
was raised in Hyattsville, Maryland and graduated from
McKinley Tech High
School
in Washington D.C. in 1945. He attended the University of Maryland and
graduated in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Politics. While at
Maryland, he was on the Boxing Team.

He lived most of his life in Prince George's County, Maryland where he was a
home builder, real estate broker and investor. He built new homes in Rogers
Heights, Cheverly, Berwyn Heights, University Park and other communities. He
was a member of the M Club and the Southern Maryland Society.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marie McMenamin Rogers; his children
Phillips C. Rogers, Jr., Anne Marie Moneta, Mary R. Obrecht (Wells), John J.
Rogers (Mary Louise), Margaret H. Decker (Matthew), and Martha R. Rogers.
He is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and his brothers James W. Rogers,
Jr., John Whitson Rogers, and Joseph S. Rogers.

He was predeceased by his brother William H. Rogers.

The family will receive friends at the wake to be held at the John M. Taylor
Funeral Home, 147 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD 21401,
www.johnmtaylorfuneralhome.com  on Friday, December 6, 2013 from 6-8 PM.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 9 AM at
St. Mary's Catholic Church, 109 Duke of Gloucester Street, Annapolis, MD
21401, with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sister Servants of
the Lord, 1714 Crain Highway, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774.
