Stanley John Wilson Jr.  1935 - 2016

Stanley "Stan" Wilson, Jr., 81, of Marco Island passed
away Sunday evening, October 23rd at Physicians
Regional Hospital in Naples, FL. with immediate and
extended family and friends by his side.

A native of Washington, D.C., Stan was educated in the
Catholic tradition throughout - Sacred Heart School and
St. John's College High School (1953). At St. John's,
he excelled in multiple sports, particularly Football where
he was a multi-year Varsity starter and letterman, as well
as receiving All-City Honors. Stan attended Villanova
University, graduating in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He served briefly in
the Air Force before beginning his professional career with Price Waterhouse in New York.
He then returned to DC in 1960 and began a 20+ year successful sales career at IBM
leading sales and marketing for major regional and national accounts. In the mid 1980's,
Stan went back to his finance and economics roots and became an investment broker and
financial advisor, building a large clientele that he continued to grow and service as he
moved to Marco Island, FL in 1995. Stan was a parishioner at San Marco Catholic Church,
a member of Island Country Club, served as Treasurer for the Summit House Condo
Association and enjoyed Tennis, Pickleball and beach-living. He was and ardent and active
supporter as an alumnus of both St. John's and Villanova University - and a loyal and
enthusiastic fan of the Washington Redskins.

Stan was a tremendous and loving family man - survived by his two children, daughter Anne
Sweeney and her husband Kevin; Michael H Wilson and his wife Lisa; grandchildren Kamilla
Sweeney, Luke Sweeney and Zach Sweeney; Lauren Wilson and Cara Wilson.

He was preceded in passing by his beloved father, Stanley J. Wilson, Sr.; his loving mother
Mary V. Wilson and spouse Jean B. Wilson.

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 28th, 2016 from 3pm to 5pm at
Hodges-Josberger Funeral Home, 577 Elkcam Circle, Marco Island, FL 34145
