RICHARD JOHN KELLY  

Richard John Kelly passed away peacefully on April 21, 2016 after a courageous battle with
Lewy Body Dementia.

He is survived by his sister, Betty Lou Kogok and her daughter, Robyn; son, Chris (Michelle);
daughters, Margo and Sharon (Andy) and by grandchildren, Brendan and Tess Kelly, and
Grace, Maddie and Ben Holleman. Richard "Dick".

A native of Washington, DC, attended
St. John''s College High School (1952), enlisted in
the army and served in Germany and the Korean War. After his service he graduated from
the University of Maryland and earned a medical degree from the School of Medicine. He
practiced general surgery at area hospitals including Providence, Sibley, and National
Orthopedic and was Physician in Charge of the Hermitage Nursing Home. Later in his
career he was Director of Physician Services for the Genesis Corporation. After he retired
to Dahlgren VA, he was active in the Coast Guard Auxiliary rising to the level of Division
Commander.

A funeral mass will be held at the Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament on Monday May 2,
2016 at 12 p.m.

Reception immediately to follow at 3409 Turner Ln., Chevy Chase, MD.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to be sent to the Alzheimer''s Foundation of
America.
