MICHAEL SOUTHCOMB "Mike" On Monday, September 18, 2017, Michael (Mike)
Southcomb, of Venice, Florida passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving
family.

He was born January 21, 1942 in Washington, DC.

Mike was the beloved husband of Christine; devoted father of Michael Jr. and Cinde (David)
Hark; step- father of Peter (Patricia) Chancellor; loving brother of Sharon McGeehen and
brother-in-law of Patsy Southcomb; cherished "Poppi" of Nicholas, Matthew, Lily, Madison,
Luke and Bridget and two nephews and a niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gillespie and Virginia (Rice) Southcomb, and his
former wife and the mother of Michael Jr. and Cinde; Patricia Heyer Southcomb and brother,
Robert A. Southcomb.

He was a graduate of
St. John's College High School (1960) where he was an
outstanding athlete in football, basketball and baseball. Mike was Vice-President of his
sophomore, junior and senior classes and was selected as a Cadet Corp "Captain" for his
senior year 1959 to graduation in the spring of 1960. A record to be proud of and well
earned.

Mike was a member of the Steamfitters Local 602 for 53 years.

Mike was a longtime resident of Olney, Maryland prior to his move to Florida. His passions
were deep-sea fishing, golf, travel, including visiting his children and grandchildren. Mike
leaves behind many friends and admirers who benefited from his infectious smile and
wonderful laugh. Chris always thought of him as her "peaceful loving soul mate."

A funeral mass will be held on November 16, 2017, 11am at the St. Louis Roman Catholic
Church, 12500 Clarksville Pike, Clarksville, MD 21029 with interment to follow at Gate of
Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Ave., Silver Spring, MD 20906.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. John's College High School,
2606 Military Rd., N.W., Chevy Chase, DC 20015 or Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd.,
Sarasota , FL 34238.
