Joseph Manuel Montoya II
Joseph Manuel Montoya II Age 70, passed away peacefully on
Sunday, October 23, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was
the son of the late U.S. Senator Joseph Montoya and Della Montoya.
"Little Joe" was born in Santa Fe on June 17, 1941.

He attended St. Michael's High School and graduated from
St.
John's Military School
(59), in Washington DC where he resided
after his father was elected to the U.S. Congress. He also attended
and graduated from Georgetown University School of Foreign
Service in Washington DC and was a member of the Delta Phi
Epsilon Fraternity.

He was active in the campaigns for re-election of his father, Senator Montoya and had 30
years experience in public policy, lobbying, public relations, and financial issues. He was
also active in providing service to rural communities, and with Santa Fe Economic
Development, INC, the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce and the Association of
Commerce and Industry for the state of New Mexico.

He was a charter member of the LA Latin Business Association and the Hispanic
Chambers of Commerce of both Dallas and Houston.

His civic and charitable work includes the Disabled American Veterans and the American
Legion. His outgoing, humorous and loving personality will be greatly missed.

Little Joe is survived by his loving children; Mrs. Nora Montoya Cabrera, Joseph Montoya III
and Alicia Montoya, his siblings; Lynda Montoya Haran and Pat Montoya, and
grandchildren; Antonio and Alejandro Cabrera and the Cabrera, Haran and Montoya
families.

A Memorial Mass in celebration of his life will be held on Friday, November 11 at 12 noon
at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi in Santa Fe.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Project Healing Waters, a
501 (c)(3) non-profit program providing fly fishing opportunities to wounded veterans. Send
