Elizabeth Ann Reniak Hamann-Bolstein

Passed away suddenly on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at home in Cary, NC.

Known as "Liz" to friends and "Betty" to immediate family, she was born to Anthony and
Thelma Reniak on February 9, 1948 in Washington, DC and raised in Cheverly MD.

She graduated from
St. Cecilia's Academy (1966), obtained a BA at the University of South
Florida, a law degree at Wayne State University, and two Master of Labor Law degrees from
Georgetown University. A dedicated public and community activist, she served as an officer
for Local 12 AFGE and president of her homeowner's association in Fairfax VA. She retired
in April 2015 after 30 years of federal service with the Department of Labor's Benefits Review

Survivors include her husband, Arthur Bolstein; sons, John Hamann (Paula) and Paul Hamann
(Kristianna); stepson, Eric Bolstein; stepdaughter, Karine Scott; sisters, Mary Ann Swentek
(Louis) and Barbara Reniak. In addition, she leaves eight grandchildren, numerous nieces,
nephews, and a host of friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 9, at The Meeting House,
5885 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia MD.
