Paul William Higdon

Paul William Higdon of Fairfax, Virginia passed away on March 16, 2013 at age 89. He was
born in Washington, DC on August 19, 1923 to the late John W. Higdon and Theresa P.

He was the brother of the late Barbara Curran and John Higdon, Jr. He grew up in
Washington, D.C. and graduated from
St. Anthony's Catholic School 1941). He worked
for C&P Telephone Company/Bell Atlantic for a total of 43 years. He was a United States
Army Veteran of World War II and served in the European theater. He was a member of the
Battery D 557th Anti Aircraft Artery Battalion.

He was part of the Greatest Generation. He was married in 1943 for 47 years to Ann Lea
Higdon. She proceeded him in death 23 years ago. They had 14 children together.

He is survived by Barbara Haynal of North Beach, Maryland, Kathleen Frey (Bob) of Mount
Jackson, Virginia, Paul Higdon, Jr. (Carol) of Sterling, Virginia, Mike Higdon of Seattle,
Washington, Nancy Lea Porter of Louisville, Kentucky, James Higdon (Timi) of Colorado
Springs, Colorado, Richard Higdon (Karen) of Winchester, Virginia, David Higdon of
Eugene, Oregon, Elizabeth Fleites (Fernando) of Greenville, South Carolina, Peggy
Whitley(Chuck) of Amissville, Virginia, Mary Ellen Higdon of Nassau, Bahamas, Robert
Higdon (Elizabeth) of Winchester, Virginia, Stephen Higdon (Melinda) of Bristow, Virginia,
Mark Higdon (Lisa) of Fairfax, Virginia. Together they had 41 grandchildren, 43
great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchildren.

Friends may call at the Everly Funeral Home, 10565 Main Street, Fairfax, VA on Thursday,
March 21, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church on  Friday, March
22, 2013 at 11 a.m., with interment following at Fairfax Memorial Park.
