Catherine Anne Logan Battista
1934 - 2014

The adored matriarch of the Battista family took her last
breath on March 26. At her side was Al Battista, her loving
husband of 61 years, as well as several members of their
close family.

She's also survived by their four sons Andrew, David, Tony
and Stephen, their wives, and 13 grandchildren.

Catherine was born in 1934 to Mary and David B. Logan in
Washington D.C., the youngest of four children living in their
Shepherd Street rowhome in the Brookland section of The
District. Her brother Francis (Mike) survives her; siblings David Logan and Mary
O'Hagen are deceased. Catherine attended
St. Anthony's High School (1952)
where she met Al. The two were married in 1953 and they moved to Beltsville, MD
and lived in the Calverton neighborhood for more than 40 years.

Catherine loved music, sports and literature, and was a driving force in St. Joseph's
Catholic Church, its school, and its CYO program.

She will have a wake at Borgwardt Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 1, from 4 to 8 pm.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am, April 2nd at St. Joseph's Church in
Beltsville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Joseph's Building Fund in her
memory.
