ESTHER HANNAH TEMIN (Crowell)
1925 - 2020

Passed away peacefully on December 10, 2020 at 95, in Potomac, Maryland.

Born in 1925 in Washington, DC, Esther, nee Crowell, grew up in Petworth and attended
Theodore Roosevelt High School (1943). She graduated from the George Washington
University in 1948 with a degree in English.

She married Samuel C. "Bud" Temin, also a native Washingtonian, in August 1947. Their
two children were born in Cleveland Ohio. The family also lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
in the 1960s before settling in Needham, Massachusetts for many years. After a long and
active retirement in Boynton Beach, Florida, Esther and Bud returned to the D.C. area in
2012 for their remaining time. Bud passed away that year, shortly before their 65th
anniversary.

Esther made lifelong friends wherever she lived, and she enjoyed those friendships deep
into retirement.

Esther was a devoted daughter, wife, mother and, later, grandmother and great
grandmother. She was abundant in love and admired by those who knew her, both friends
and relatives. Pretty and meticulous about her dress and grooming, she always maintained
an open and generous household. Esther also loved animals, and her homes hosted a long
line of dogs, cats, and birds.

Esther is survived by her daughter Harriet Collins (Patrick) of Mashpee, Massachusetts and
son Thomas Temin (Robin) of Rockville, Maryland; grandchildren Sarah Condon, P.J.
Collins, Benjamin Temin and Janice Temin; and three great-grandchildren.

Interment will take place privately at the Garden of Remembrance in Clarksburg, Maryland.
