FRANCIS FINOTTI MUDD

A native of Washington, DC, born May 18, 1930 and passed
away in Auburn, CA, January 9, 2015.

Son of the late T. Paul Mudd and Frances Maria Finotti Mudd.

In his childhood, attended St. Frances Xavier Elementary
School followed by
Gonzaga High School (1948), graduated from Georgetown
University.

While a child he was requested on numerous occasions to be an alter boy at weddings,
funerals and other important events with his identical twin Thomas Paul since they were so
strikingly alike and made such a handsome pair. As a youth he was taught Latin by the
Jesuits and was constantly studying the classics. He was also interested in photography,
fixing cars, driving motorcycles, crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay and attended many
crab feasts with family and friends. It was there at Shadeside Maryland that Frank met his
beloved wife Margaret Kelly. Eventually the family moved to Auburn, CA, there he did
appraising until he retired.

Frank was an amazing grandfather, telling stories, reciting poems, singing little songs,
reading books to children, riding them on his tractor, teaching them the word of God and
showing them to not take themselves too seriously. He was a rascal, a family treasure, and
a legend of friendliness, who never met a stranger. Frank was a devout Catholic and a
daily communicant, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a Knight of Columbus.

Survived by his beloved wife Margie and 12 children. Margie Wenger, Francis Mudd Jr.,
Ruth Mudd, Mary Catherine Mudd, Benjamin Mudd, T. Paul Mudd, Teresa Gonzalez,
Joseph Mudd, Charles Mudd, Kathleen O'Brien, Elizabeth Durant and Amelia Ruiz; loving
grandfather to 47 grandchildren and one grandson-in-law; loving father-in-law to Keith
Wenger, Melissa Eleanor Mudd, Amber Mudd, Juan Gonzalez, Melissa Grace Mudd,
Rebecca Mudd, Steven O'Brien, Vincent Durant and Jordan Ruiz; loving brother to John
Philip Mudd, Mary Catherine Mudd Robey, Richard Joseph Aloysius Mudd and Joseph
Valentine Mudd. Survived by most cherished friend Charlie Robey.

His entire family, relatives and friends have been enriched by his tenderness and
unwavering loyalty. His abundant gatiy will live on forever in the hearts of his wife, children,
grandchildren and their spouses. A diamond of a man.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Auburn, CA on
January 22, 2015.

On that day there was standing room only, overflowing to the steps outside the church.
Eternal Rest grand to him O Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. Amen
