Shirley A. Kelley, of Centennial, passed away at her
home on September 11, 2017.

She is survived by her husband, Samuel; three
daughters Suzanne Kelley of Los Angeles, Stacy
Ferguson (Randy) of Highlands Ranch, and Samantha
Ann Kuo (Jay) of Irvine, CA; a brother, Mark Vick
(Cathy) of Whitestone, VA; and one granddaughter,
Mikayla Kuo.

Shirley was born in Washington, D.C., February 10,
1937, to parents James C. and Helen (Sullivan) Vick.
She graduated from
Eastern High School (1955)
in Washington DC and began her Federal career as
a civilian secretary in the Department of Army's Pentagon office.

In 1958, she secured a foreign assignment and was transferred that year to the
Information Division, HQ, United States Army Europe (USAEUR), Heidelberg,
Germany. There she met and married her soldier husband Sam. They were married in a
Heidelberg city civil ceremony in 1959 and returned to the US in 1960.

After living 19 years in PA, she and her family moved to CO, then to CA in 1985. After
26 years as a wife and mother, Shirley resumed her Federal government service in Los
Angeles with the US Air Force. Upon returning to Denver in 1989, she joined the
Environmental Protection Agency's Region 8 office. In 2012, she retired as Executive
Assistant to the Region 8 Administrator, having completed 30 years of Federal
government service.

Shirley and Sam celebrated 58 years of marriage this year.

They enjoyed traveling, visiting most of the US with vacations in Mexico, Europe, and
the British Isles, and many family get-togethers. Shirley's generous heart, love of family,
friends, life, and her steadfast love and faith in Jesus Christ will be greatly missed. We
know that she is in God's arms.
