Fred Austin Lawhorn, 74, of Fredericksburg died Sunday, Oct.
24, 2010, at his home at Bryce Mountain in Basye.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12,
2010, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Triangle, by
Father William Hines. Burial will follow at 1 p. m. in Quantico
National Cemetery.

Mr. Lawhorn was born in Washington, D.C., on June 18,
1936, the son of the late Willis Herman and Ethel Bryant
Lawhorn. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving on the
USS Rockville. He was vice president of Mid-Atlantic Interiors Co.

A sister, Anna Mae Helsley, and a brother, Charles Lee Lawhorn, preceded him in
death. Mr. Lawhorn is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years, Lorraine H. Lawhorn of
Fredericksburg; two sons, Keith (and Kim) of Fairfax County and Kenneth (and Julie) of
Fairfax Station; a daughter, Denise Lawhorn (and Rob) of Fredericksburg; four
brothers, William Lawhorn of Asheboro, N.C., James Lawhorn of Bluff City, Tenn.,
Roger Lawhorn of Kenisaw, Ga., and Larry Lawhorn of Manassas; and seven
grandchildren, Hunter and Lauren Spindle, Donovan, Geoffrey and Mitchell Lawhorn
and Carter and Kendall Lawhorn.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude's
Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
