Tahmineh Irani Parsons died on September 24, 2010 in Christiansburg,
Virginia, at the age of 93.
Born in Washington, she was a graduate of Central High School and George
Washington University, and taught home economics at Gordon Junior High
School for more than 30 years, before retiring in 1980. She moved to
Christiansburg in 2004.
A life-long member of the Baha'i Faith, she served on the Spiritual Assemblies
of Washington and Reston, Virginia.
She is reunited with her beloved husband, George Ragsdale Parsons; her
parents, Drs. Louise Shuman Irani and Ardeshir B. Irani; her brother, Dr.
Ardeshir B. "Bud" Irani, Jr., and her sister-in-law, Rosemary B. "Bonnie"
She is survived by her daughter, Shireen Parsons, of Summit Hill,
Pennsylvania; son and daughter-in-law, James and Anne Parsons, of Kitty
Hawk, North Carolina; grandson, Christopher D. Allen, of Arlington, Virginia;
granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Aline and Antonio Gutierrez, of
Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jennifer and Albert
Chou, of Cary, North Carolina; and two great grand-children, Mia Louise
Gutierrez and Dylan Chou.
Graveside service and interment at Arlington National Cemetery on November
29 at 1 p.m.
