Preston Luck Davis Jr., 90, a retired treasurer with the American Sales Co. in Washington, died May 8 of kidney failure at
Amerisist of Virginia, an assisted living facility in Front Royal.
Mr. Davis was born in the District, graduated from Central High School in 1934 and attended the University of Maryland for two
He worked briefly for the federal government, beginning in 1939, and then worked in accounting for about a decade for a coal
and fuel oil company.
He became treasurer of American Sales, the local Schlitz beer distributor in 1952, and stayed until his retirement in 1982.
Mr. Davis moved to Port Richey, Fla., and stayed until 1987, when his wife, Leonora Callahan Davis, died. He moved to Front
Royal that same year. His hobbies included bowling.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years, Rose-Marie Dorn Davis of Front Royal; two daughters from his first marriage, Patricia L.
Rouleau of Centreville and Claire A. Raineri of Waco, Tex.; two stepsons, Richard Dorn of Frederick and Fred Dorn of
Gaithersburg; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
