Evelyn H. Wall, who did clerical work at the National Institutes of Health
for 25 years until retiring in the 1980s, died March 20 at her home in Silver
Spring. She was 91.
She had congestive heart failure, said her granddaughter Jocelyn Van Hee.
Mrs. Wall was a founding member of Northwood Presbyterian Church in
Silver Spring and served on many committees.
Evelyn Augusta Heitmuller was a native Washingtonian and a 1938 graduate
of the old Central High School.
She was a volunteer with organizations including the Red Hat Society
women’s group and the Margaret Schweinhaut Senior Center at Forest Glen
in Silver Spring.
Her husband of 66 years, Charles H. Wall Jr., died in 2004.
Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Howell of Cameron Park, Calif.,
and Cheryl Dubach of Eaton, N.Y.; six grandchildren; and seven great-
grandchildren.
