Robert Earle "Bob" Harris, 88, of Carroll Lutheran
Village, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at Carroll
Hospital Center.

Born May 1, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was the
son of the late Teddy Carl Harris and Leola Harris.
He was the husband of Gertrude H. Trudy Harris,
whom he married Feb. 14, 1985.

After graduating from
Central High School, in
Washington, D.C., he joined the Navy and recieved
airplane gunner training. Following honorable
discharge, he began work with C&P Telephone Company, receiving training
on mainframe equipment and later as switchman on central office equipment.
He retired from Bell Atlantic in 1985 as district staff manager, traffic
engineering, and later earned an associate degree in computer maintenance
from Howard Community College.

He enjoyed auto mechanics and restoring antique cars, and he liked dogs,
especially poodles.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are sons Russell W. Harris and wife Grace,
of Silver Spring, Rodney V. Harris, of Silver Spring, and Daniel E. Harris
and wife Cathy, of Panama City Beach, Florida; stepson Anthony E. Ash
and wife Cindy, of Hanover, Maryland; sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Harris, of
Leesburg, Virginia, and Anna E. Horn, of Houston, Texas; a brother-in-law,
Alfred K. Horn Jr., of Wilmington, Delaware; three step-grandchildren; one
step-great-grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by brothers Carl Harris and wife Marjorie, and Edward
Harris; and sister Marjorie Kitts and husband Walter.

Per his wishes, he was cremated, and there will be no public visitation or
services.
