JEAN HAMMERLUND MacDONALD  

Jean Hammerlund MacDonald, 103, passed away
Monday, March 26, 2018 at Goodwin House Bailey's
Crossroads, Falls Church, VA, her residence since 2005.

Mrs. MacDonald was born May 8, 1914 in Fulton, IL,
moving to Washington, DC as a young child.

After her marriage to Curtis U. MacDonald in 1939, the
MacDonald's lived in Arlington, VA their 64 years of
married life.

Mrs. MacDonald graduated from
Central High School
(1932),
Washington, DC and Strayer Business College.

She worked for the U. S. Dept. of Agriculture several years before starting a family. Mrs.
MacDonald was an active member of the Dominion Hills Woman's Club, Home
Demonstration Club, and Optimers Club, wives of members of the Arlington Optimist
Club and Columbia Baptist Church.

Mrs. MacDonald is survived by her daughter, Nancy J. Beeson, Falls Church, VA; son,
Robert U. MacDonald, Spotsylvania, VA, and grandson Ryan A. MacDonald, Midlothian,
VA and several nieces and nephews.

Her husband predeceased her in 2004.

Visitation will be a Murphy Funeral Home, 4510 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA on Friday,
March 30, 2018; 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Interment will follow at 1 p.m. at Columbia Gardens Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
A service of thanksgiving in the chapel of All Saints at Goodwin House Bailey's
Crossroads, 3440 S. Jefferson St., Falls Church, VA is scheduled for Friday, April 20,
2018 at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to the Fellowship Fund, Goodwin
House Foundation, 4800 Filmore St., Alexandria, VA 22311, Columbia Baptist Church,
