Bernard Harrison, MD (Age 94)
September 27, 1923 – May 10, 2018
Peacefully passed away in his home surrounded by loving
family, on Thursday May 10, 2018.
A native Washingtonian, who graduated from Central High
School (42), George Washington University, and George Washington Medical School.
A Captain in the US Army Air Corps, who proudly served his country and helped relocate
war refugees to Israel after WWII.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Norma; son, Robert (Julie), daughter,
Rebecca (William) Mandir, and five adoring grandchildren, Stephanie and Danielle
Mandir, and Liberty, Berek, and Rand Harrison. A loving brother to Flo (Jack) Herman,
and the late Edith Adler and Hinda Lapkoff. Also survived by many loving nieces and
He was kind, just and generous, honest and intelligent, the patriarch of his family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 11, 2:30 p.m., in the chapel at Judean
Memorial Gardens, with interment to follow (16225 Batchellors Forest Rd, Olney, MD).
After, the family will receive guests at the home of Rebecca and Bill Mandir. Shiva
services will be held on Monday 7 p.m. at the Mandir home.
