Groton - Angela Sophie Kozikowski, 84, of Groton, died on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2013, at
Fairview Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut, Groton, after a long illness.
She was born in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 2, 1929, the daughter of the late Horace
Orazio Caffi and Julia (Koziol) Caffi. She was a graduate of Central High School,
Washington, D.C., Class of 1948.
She lived in the Washington, D.C., and Silver Spring, Md. area for most of her life before
moving to Franklin, where she resided for more than 20 years. She worked as an
insurance agent for numerous Washington, D.C., and Maryland companies. She was an
active member of the Democratic Party in Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Connecticut,
and a member of the Insurance Women's Club of New London.
She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Roman Catholic Church of Gales Ferry, and
their Ladies Guild.
She married Jerome J. Kozikowski of New Britain, on Nov. 14, 1998, who predeceased
her in 2009.
She had been previously married to Robert Jacobs. That marriage ended in divorce.
She later had been married to Page Digman. That marriage also ended in divorce.
Survivors include a sister, Genevieve M. Caffi Holt of Landover, Md., and numerous
nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Her brother, Venerando J. Caffi of Berlin, Md., predeceased her.
Burial will be private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Md.
