William L. Hulbert (Age 87)
Washington, DC area resident for much of his life, passed away peacefully in his
home in Pompano Beach, Florida on February 17, 2017.
He attended Coolidge High School (1948) where he lettered in football. He
graduated from the University of Michigan in 1951.
During the Korean War he became a Naval officer stationed on the USS Hunt, a
destroyer based in Newport Rhode Island. After three years in the Navy he joined the
stockbrokerage firm of Hugh D. Auchincloss, stepfather of Jacqueline Kennedy.
After retiring he traveled through Europe; he enjoyed serving as a crew member on a
friends sailboat in the Mediterranean and flying a T 34 naval trainer as part of a Navy
club in Annapolis, MD.
While living in Annapolis, Maryland and his condo in Florida, he wrote two books, one
a journal of his travels and a novel about politics.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia and his sons Jeffrey, Kevin, Clayton, and Jonathan
and seven grandchildren.
On June 4, 2017 a celebration of his life will be held at 12 noon in Quiet Waters Park
inside the Blue Heron center in Annapolis, Maryland.
