Frank Prentiss

Frank Prentiss, 70, who drove a school bus in Charles County during the 1990s, died after a heart attack Jan. 19 in his doctor's office in Fort
Lauderdale, Fla. He lived in Margate, Fla.
Mr. Prentiss, a native Washingtonian, drove for Compton Bus Services, a Port Tobacco-based company that operates 37 school buses for
Charles County Public Schools, from 1989 to 1999. He previously drove a truck for a Ford Co. subsidiary in Washington.
He graduated from  Anacostia High School  and served in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He returned to the Washington area
after the war and lived in Oxon Hill and Pomfret.
He moved to South Florida in 1999 and drove a bus for Coral Springs, Fla., charter schools.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara Prentiss of Margate; five daughters, Patty Leber of Anchorage, Theresa Maus of Chesapeake
Beach, Md., Ginger Operle and Paula Prentiss, both of Coral Springs, and Robin DeYuliis of La Plata; 13 grandchildren; and six
great-grandchildren.
