Joan M. Broad

Joan M. Broad, 84, of Shinglehouse, PA, and formerly
of White Township, NJ, passed away Tuesday, March
30th, 2021, in Slate Belt Nursing & Rehabilitation Center,
Bangor.

Joan was born in Washington, D.C., a daughter of the
late Joseph H. and Florence E. (Price) Moore. She and
her beloved husband, Bruce W. Broad, were married for
62 years last July.

Born and raised in the Washington, D.C., area where she developed a love of
reading through a beloved 6th grade teacher, Joan and Bruce resided and raised
their family in White Township, NJ.

After Bruce retired, they moved to Shinglehouse, PA, in the early 1990s where they
became involved in their newly adopted community and fostered many wonderful
friendships while taking part in various charity fundraisers. She excelled in Arts &
Crafts, most notably sewing and quilting and loved animals especially dogs and
horses.

She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church of Oxford, NJ, and later the
First Baptist Church of Shinglehouse, PA, and also was longtime member of Eastern
Star, first in New Jersey and later in Pennsylvania.

In addition to her husband, Bruce, Joan is survived by a son, David B. and his wife,
Patricia, of Bangor; a daughter, Michelle Holdridge and her husband, Mark, of
Preston, CT; two grandchildren, Daniel B. Holdridge of Ledyard, CT, and Katherine
E. Holdridge of Boston, MA; a sister, Donna L. Field and her husband, Michael, of
Centreville, MD.

She was predeceased by a brother, Joseph H. Moore, MD.

Services will be private and at the convenience of the family under the care of the
Fiore Funeral Home www.fiorefuneralhome.com, 230 Market Street Bangor, PA.
