Betty Irene Moses Smith

BETTY IRENE SMITH  

On Sunday May 6, 2018 in North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Betty was a long time resident of Sterling Park, VA
and Centreville, VA who spent the past eleven years
in Calabash, NC.

Betty was born on September 2, 1938 and grew up
in Washington, DC, graduating from
Anacostia
High School in 1956.
It was at Anacostia where
she met Richard Smith who would become her
devoted husband for over 60 years. I

n addition to raising a family, Betty worked for many years, first with the Loudoun
County Public School System, then with the Defense Communications Agency from
which she retired in 1996. Betty was devoted to her family and friends and will be
remembered as a generous, giving person who always put the needs of others
above herself. She will be missed by many.

In addition to her husband Richard, Betty is survived by two loving sons, Mark
(Anna) and Jeffrey (Caryn) as well as seven adoring grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren.

Services were held on May 9 at Lee Funeral Home in Little River, SC.
